Anyone see this new demo yet...it's pretty impressive:

It's got a really nice damage model too, not just on the cars, but the enviornment as well. Run into a picket fence, and it does some damage to the car, and destroys the fence. Run into a tree, and your car is demolished (sometimes even undrivable :p ).

Looks nice, haven't played a decent Rally game in a while (last was Rally Masters, in like, 2000), is it for PC?

i enjoyed the demo, my only gripe with real time damage is that it hasn't been used often enough. Why is it that a DOS game(carmageddon) could have real time damage, but it takes us this long to see it in another series? With all the physics marketing getting shoved down our throats you'd think racing sims would have been affected too. I'm glad a game that looks decent finally incorporated it, but still, it's taken a long time.

As for the game itself, steering seems almost too tight, nearly arcade-esque.

re: Second image...

They haven't quite modelled these two facts yet:
-Tyres are usually soft.
-Sand has to go somewhere if your object is partly beneath the surface.

I guess it's picky fools like me which mean they should never let us see game stills from games which aim to be realistic

Nope, not picky, this has been one of my gripes for years. :x

There's a new sega rally game in production which i think deals with both those issues and deforms the tracks like motorstorm on the ps3. The screenshots ive seen don't look as pretty as Dirt though. I've been playing the demo and it's good fun  though i need to ditch the keyboard if i buy the game. Ow...
