Can ZM VNF100 cool 3870 HD and fit in Antec Fusion/NSK2400?

They make noise, too.

Can ZM VNF100 cool 3870 HD and fit in Antec Fusion/NSK2400?

Post by Derfel » Sat Dec 08, 2007 2:06 pm

I have a friend with the Antec NSK2400 case who wants to upgrade his pc for some gaming but wants a passive card. He wants a radeon 3870 and I know these can be cooled passively by things like the thermalright HR-03 and the AC Accelero S series but I'm pretty sure both of these stick out past the card too much to fit in the NSK2400?

It looks like the Zalman VNF100 might fit ok - does anyone have any experience with this?

If it does fit I'm not sure if this will cool the 3870 sufficiently - can anyone help here?

Zalman page for the VNF100: http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/vie ... 8&code=013

Any other recommendations or suggestions very welcome!

ps. He doesn't want to punch out space for a bigger cooler in the top of his case like I remember seeing someone else on these forums had done!

If it fits it will most likely cool the card just fine. They are lower on power consumption (and thus, heat output) then the older generation of cards performing at the same level and if those can be cooled sufficiently with them, so can the new ones.
