Mount a Fan on 5750 silent cell

Post by kopke » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:49 am

Hi people. I just got myself a 5750 Silent cell from Gigabyte. A good card. It runs grate but one can always improve. I was wondering if any one had mounted a fan on this card. Sens I have pritty good fans in my unused goody-box I figurd why not use 'em. Got a 12 and a 8 CM Tacens btw.

Not that I'm complaining about the heat of my card. It hit 59°c ( 138°F ) in my Antec P-180

Edit.

Furmark 1.8 just hit 75°C (avg. FBS. 42 was hoping fore more) That's a bit hot.

Welcome to SPCR!

And I agree w Mike, temps are OK, the heat sink is designed to run w/o a fan, provided you have some case air flow going, which you obviously seem to have. Myself have pondered getting this card, or it's older brother the 5770, and ducting a case fan directly to the heatsink.

I have the 5770 silent cell. Put a 800 rpm 120mm Scythe slim on it with some zip ties and a cord (my zip ties where to short on that side  )

Not that hard to mount a fan on any kind of heat sink with some zip ties :)

75c furmark with that card is perfectly fine. If it's to hot for your liking mount a fan on it and be done with it :)

For how long did you run the Furmark test? I assume no less than 15 minutes and you get maximum 75 (seventy five) degrees? HOW? I have a Club3D 5750 passive (same as powercolor) and I get close to 100C after 15 minutes having a huge fan blowing along the card. How do you get 75C max???!!!

BTW, what are your idle temps?
