How loud is a GTX 570?
I'm currently using a 9600GT. At idle, it's very quiet, although, it's a freight train on startup (100% fan speed). Does anyone know how loud the GTX 570 is at idle compared to the 9600GT? Also, are there any aftermarket coolers that aren't 3+ slots for the GTX 570?
Re: How loud is a GTX 570?
If the reference GTX 570 measurements are anything to go by GTX570 is not *that* bad:

Will it be louder at idle than your 9600GT? Very likely so, although not necessarily by a huger margin.
At full load, it'll be considerable louder (subjectively perhaps twice as loud or even louder, hard to say as so much depends on individual factors).

asuming 570=580. The gtx 580 it comes with different minimum fan speed. some has a minimum fanspeed @ 40% and some has a lower minimum. so u need to read up and buy from the right poduser.
my gigabyte 580, has a 40% minimum and idles @ 41 celcius. needless to say that 20-30% would be more than enough. but it has a bios limitation.
At load, 570 is warm and will spinn up

A German website put the Scythe Setsugen 2 on a GTX570. They mention the card was too loud stock. Scythe doesn't list the GTX570 as compatible though. Should be a thermal issue. The website above replaced the original Scythe slim 120mm fan with a standard one from Noctua. Unfortunately, they don't mention if the cooling performance was inadequate with the slim fan. With the slim fan, the Setsugen 2 is a two-slot solution.

Ah, nice find! I had forgotten that Scythe were going to release a follow up to the first Setsugen (a cooler which was a disappointment IMO). Here's a review in English, there are some non-english reviews at the product page.

Arctic cooling now lists the Accelero Extreme Plus as compatible.
You need a VRM cooling kit with that.
