EMERGENCY--heatsink free Radeon 9200
Can any Radeon 9200 function at all without a GPU heatsink? This is a major emergency, and it's slightly embarrassing, so I'd rather not give a story untill I know if it's even possible, though I will give the story afterwards.

Thank GOD. That's a huge weight off my shoulders.
There's a 9200 in a work machine that had a nasty little passive (worse than 486) heatsink. I wanted to install a new one, the old one happened to be installed with thermal glue. I took it off and found the new one wouldn't fit. I had some AS thermal epoxy and stuck it back on. The machine worked fine but the TV out was buggered. It put out black and white with flashes of color. (I found out two days later) The machine is still under warrenty but I cannot acess it to find if the sink had fallen off.
I was worried the warrenty guys would say, "sorry someone pried off the sink," and they'd know it was me.
