I am putting together a HTPC system and I would like something as quiet as possible, but I am not looking into passive cooling.
Having read up on this forum a good deal I can't seem to find a solid choice.
The Zalman 700 seems good, but I read it's really not designed for the AGP version although it will work.
The Silencers don't seem to fit the AGP version either.
Has anyone heard about the one reviewed at Tomshardware?
It's the KuFormula VF1 Plus. They raved about it, but since they are not primarily looking at sound I would defer to the advice here.
Any others to look at?
Thanks,
Mark

Not to be rude But EVGA makes several different AGP 6600 cards.
Some of them have the funky sideways heat sink, some not?

The HSF on this looks so small that you could replace it almost anything w/cable ties.
Alternatively, unplug the stock fan and use a quite/slow 80mm.

Just found out that the Zalmans won't work. They will not fit in my case the way they need to be installed.
Well the It's the KuFormula VF1 Plus is out too as that will be too tall as well.

Hi.
I use a Vantec Iceberq 5 on my agp 6600gt. Running at 5 volts it's very quiet and still cools better that the stock heatsink/fan. The vantec heatsink sticks out wider than the card, but I don't see why that would be a problem. It fits nice and securely so it's all good.
Also, it's cheap comes with ram sinks and lights up all blue. (not sure silly lights are a good thing).
Think the vantec is called something else out side the uk.

edit..alternative names = Logisys/Vantec/Jetart copper cooler
