modding my new nv silencer/

Post by urich » Fri Jul 07, 2006 5:13 am

i just got the new cooler but i want to improve it.
you know there is a open part not coverd with plastic right at the tip of the metal part of the heat sink now air is coming out thruogh this opening but there is no memory or capasitors there on my xfx6600gt.
will blocking this opening with carbord or somthing forcing the air to come out through the back of the case will improve my case\gpu temps?

ho and a nother thing i installed the cooler incorectly.
i didnwt use the small rubber piece below the backplate i used the back plate the wrong way round (because it is bent).
wat i did was placing the small rebber pieces below the backplate and then i tightend the screwes above them, will this decrease the cooler preformence (it already lowerd temps by 10 on idle and 20 on load), or is it fine installed that way?.

by the way im sorry if i have any spelling mistakes.

Unfortunately there's not really any improving you can do to the NVSilencer.

Welcome to SPCR though. :)
