Need help getting a passive graphics card
Hi,
I have been using a eVGA 7300GS 256MB for sometime now (linky). The little fan on the card has begun driving me crazy. I cannot find any passive coolers that will fit this card.
I need advice on a new passive card. I am not a hardcore games, but I do occasionally play some games like Ghost Recon Advance Fighter(GRAW) and Rainbow Six. My current card is able to handle them, not at the highest settings but a low-moderate settings.
I need some card that can handle these games and also be able to run a LCD at 1600x1400, possibly even support 2 monitors in DVI mode.
Thanks,
Parminder

A passive 7600GT sounds like what you need. No whiney fan, and decent gaming performance. Linky
By chance if you're into watching HD movies, a fanless DX10 card features full HD acceleration.

No experience myself, but there is a whole thread about it here.

I just found this Nvidia 8600 GTS card on the MSI website:
model = NX8600GTS-T2D256EZ-HD
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_sp ... &class=vga
The webpage shows heatpipes and claims to be silent so it must be passively cooled. Would this be the most powerful passively cooled card available?

i finally found a buyer for my existing card. i am hoping that 7600GT passive card would be a significant upgrade to justify almost 2 times the cost of my current card. i would rather not spend all that money unless it is going to be worth it.
