help choosing between - palit 7600 / palit x800 /sapp 1950
Hello
I want to buy new agp card after my 6600 agp died .
The cards I'm considering are -
palit x800 gto
http://www.palit.biz/en/products/ati_agp_X800GTO.html
palit 7600 gt
http://www.palit.biz/en/products/nv_agp_7600GT.htm
sapphire x1950gt
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102093
My question is how these cards fan noise and temperature ?
I have pretty quiet pc ( not silent ) , so beside performance noise and heat are also important factors .
Thanks

The X800-series is dated by now, I would not consider that one.
There are 7600GTs with passive cooling. If you decide to go with a 7600GT, take one of those. At least I think there are passive AGP versions of the 7600GT, I know there are passive PCIe versions.
I don't know much about the X1950GT, but I think it's pretty hot. Too hot for me anyway (I think ~50W is the upper limit for how much a graphics card should consume).

7600 GT's have been infamous for having buzzsaw's as their fans. That sapphire is certainly a fast and able card. But the stock fan is always a stock fan, although Sapphire's are better than regular Ati reference designs and are not as bad as average 7600 GT fan.
Although when you look Newegg's comments some say its quiet ( certainly not SPCR quiet )
I don't know if X1950GT is best for silent computer, but for all those cards you listed its best for gaming etc.

Like said previously, the X800 is quite dated, so I would throw it out. It has a lot of horsepower, but can't do the cool stuf (SM3 and the like)
The 7600GT is a very cool-running card. I upgraded to the XFX AGP version after using a 9800Pro for a long time, and the 7600GT is definitely cooler and much stronger. My heatsink (VF-700AlCu Fan Mod) doesn't get nearly as hot with the 7600 as it did with the 9800.
The X1950Pro is a pretty hot-running card, but tamable. If you're not really craving gaming performance, I'd stay away as it'll heat up your comp pretty bad.
Personally, I'd go with a 7600GT and a passive cooling solution. Most cooling solutions don't come with an HSI heatsink, but the stock heatsink should be just fine - just make sure your HS doesn't interfere with the HSI HS

HELLO z4
I have the 1950xtx Saphire in my rig and i can tell you this. Its quite a loud graphics card.If you are normally browsing etc the fan its turned down but once you start playing the noise covers all the surroundings. The temp at normal use is 55-60 'c and while playing goes up to 75-80'c.I would only consider this option only if you are buying an after market cooler(Thermalright HR-03 Rev A ,etc ) for the GPU.You can go to NVDIA 8600GT-GTS series which they come with passive cooling but the performance of this cards are not acceptable with DX10 even compared with previous generation GPU.I think the card that will i will conceder, most right now is NVDIA 8800GTS with an aftermarket cooler.

ps.This is new ATI 2900XT crossfire edition.Check how much noise it makes. The cooler is similar to ati 1950xtx.

I'll go with the 7600 gt with it's stock cooler , and perhaps with a third party cooler later on .
