GPU monitoring / tuning software

They make noise, too.

GPU monitoring / tuning software

Post by willrob72 » Mon Mar 10, 2008 8:51 am

Any recommendations?

I have a Nvidia 8800 GTS (512) card and when trying to run the Nvidia nTune software downloaded & installed from their website it just crashes (fails to initialise) and takes Windows with it, giving Blue Screen of Death and a reboot....

I am running Vista 64 with 8 Gb RAM and wonder if this has something to do with it?

Are there any alternatives?

I feel your pain. I also tried nTune with Vista 64 and a 8800GT with the same results. As Gunzee pointed out, RivaTuner was was my video card manufacturer recommended. It has a large array of tools available.

For just temps I think HWMonitor and PC Wizard work (http://www.cpuid.com/index.php).

RivaTuner. Simple the best tool for nVidia.
I'm fine with XP SP3 Beta and Vista 64 Ultimate (dual-boot).
Underclock, dynamic OC based on launch 3D apps, monitor CPU/GPU/HDD/FPS, everything (my 8800GT 512 is fanless with Accelero S1 so I don't need fan profiles).
Here is a nice tutorial for setting up RivaTuner.

Thanks very much those who replied. I'll try Rivatuner.
