HDMI vs DVI

is there any difference in the video output quality of HDMI vs DVI? or is the only difference that hdmi has sound?

Not that ive ever been able to see.

One advantage for DVI cables imo is they cannot be accidentally pulled out like hdmi.

When I worked for BestBuy I had many service calls where the cleaning lady had accidentally pulled out an hdmi connection while moving components or vacuuming.

"Uh, your all set. I plugged back in your hdmi. That will be $80."

As has been said before, all else being equal there is no difference in quality between HDMI and DVI - they're both digital signals.
