Mini ATX i7 2600k w fanless 500w PSU & fanless 1GB GPU
Hello all,
Have been climbing the learning curve to create a quiet, small, and powerful PC to drive 3 monitors at 1920 x 1080 for my work. Although I have a history of adding hard drives, RAM, and add-in cards, this is my first build.
This machine will be used for number crunching and music listening (via S/PDIF) from uncompressed CD files. I am not a gamer, but may play a DVD movie on rare occasions. I am a dual US/UK resident; however, this machine will be used in the UK with Virgin Broadband, which is Fiber.
I have found my choices for Case, MoBo, GPU, and PSU to be difficult to find in stock at suppliers in the US and the UK. Please advise if you note any potential technical problems with this proposed build. I would especially appreciate any suggestions for lowering the cost while maintaining the performance and quietness.
Thank you,
//Cliff

Re: Mini ATX i7 2600k w fanless 500w PSU & fanless 1GB GPU
That Asus P8P67 PRO ATX mainboard won't fit in that Silverstone TJ08B-E Temjin Evolution microATX Tower Case. You should look at the P8Z68-M PRO.

As you will be having fans in this system, you could save some money by getting a PS with a fan.
I don't think that the AcoustiPack will will have noticeable effect because of the fan noise.

The Maximus IV GENE-Z doesn't have a PCI slot for your Edimax EW-7722In 300Mbps Wireless 11n 32Bit PCI Adapter.

Thank you Arbutus for pointing out the lack of PCI slot.
I now plan to go with a USB-wireles solution. There is a good discussion of the issue here:

Re: Mini ATX i7 2600k w fanless 500w PSU & fanless 1GB GPU
One of my relatives wanted a USB-wireless link for their UK Virgin fibre broadband setup. As the Virgin media hub was made by Netgear, I suggested that they opted for a matching Netgear USB adapter, the WNA3100-100ENS. This has an extension cable and cradle. It is by no means the cheapest USB wireless adapter, or even the cheapest Netgear USB device but it has delivered consistent wireless 11n speeds with no hassle whatsoever using WPA2 encryption. The WNA3100-100ENS is available from sources such as http://www.scan.co.uk/products/netgear- ... ss-adaptor.csrote wrote:I now plan to go with a USB-wireles solution.
