Would this be a good upgrade to silence my PC?
Right i currently have the following hardware
P4 2.26Ghz (1.25V) with XP-120 (Fanless)
Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G (No NB Fan)
Radeon 9800Pro with ATI1
Silverstone TJ-04 with stock fan
Samsung Spinpoint 160GB IDE 8MB Cache
SilentX PSU
I'm thinking about spending £100 so i've come up with these parts to put in there
2*Nexus 120mm fans = £24
Blowhole Trim 1m (Plan to cut out grills) = £0.56
Arctic Silver 5 = £6
Cable Braiding kit (Do i need this?) = £10.50
90 Molex for hard drive to keep cables tidy = £1.25
VF700-CU = £24.68
Acoustipack Deluxe (v2) = £34.08
Total inc. Delivery from 2 shops = £109.79
Cheap mods i plan to do are cutting away fan grills, tidy the cables, 5v the 2 nexus fans, remove HD Cage and suspend using elastic
Any comments/ideas

I'd say yes to the fans, Arctic Silver and VF700-CU
Don't know about the cable braiding kit, you could just get a load of cheap zip ties and do the same job but not look as pretty
As for the acoustipack, I would consider it if your case is aluminium, if it's steel it's hard to say, with mostly 120mm fans most of your noise will be low end nd vinration based. The acoustipacks would probably help cut any noise coming from the hard drive but I don't know how much they would help against fans, or if any would even be needed with them being nexus fans

I do think it will help a little, it's just it's the most expensive thing you are getting, and likely to make the least differance.
Acoustic foam makes sense if you are going all out no holds barred for silencing, but on a budget it's not the most effective measure
I'd expect that with that setup, once you've finished the psu and hard drive will be the only source of noise, the hard drive is simple enough to solve, just rig up a suspended mounting system, if it's a nidec motor drive then I'd say you won't hear it at all doing that.
And the psu shouldn't be much of a problem, though it may be worth sticking a very slow fan on the XP120 to stop heat building up, or at least duct it to the exhaust fan.

Thanks, from what you've said i see what you mean about it being expensive and likely to make little difference so i won't get it just now. The other option is to get the mutemat pro for £30 as im in the UK its easy to get
Also, my samsung is a JVC but i find it quiet expecially in a suspension as it used to be

Just priced up all the same stuff from 1 shop minus acoustipack and ic delivery it comes in at £65.03!!
The shop also has a forum and i asked about seasonic S12 PSUs in the product sugestions forum. They said they can get them with a lead time of 1 week and i should email them for a quote
So just emailed them for a quote on the 430W, waiting for a reply. If its a decent price its going on the order
