Hi,

I'm building a quiet dual core Opteron workstation for a customer and would like some comment about the component choices I made.

Case : Silverstone Temjin TJ05
Psu : Seasonic S12 Powersupply 600W
Case Fans : 2 x AcoustiFan DustPROOF 120mm
Case Fan Accessorier : Black Anti-vibration silicone 120 mm fan gaskets and Ultra-Soft Arrowhead Fan Mounts
Motherboard : Tyan Thunder K8WE (non SCSI version)
CPU : 2 x AMD Opteron 280
CPU Cooler : 2 x Scythe Ninja-PLUS with 120mm fan
Memory : 4 x 1GB DDR400 ECC REG
Graphics : GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB (Should be out next week!)
Hard drive : 2 x Samsung SpinPoint P120S 250GB
CD/DVD Drive : NEC ND-3550A
Floppy drives : Mitsumi 7 in 1 + FDD
Sound : Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro
Case Sound Proofing: 2 x AcoustiPack Deluxe (Big Case)
HD Boxes : 2 x Silent Box Heatlane HDD Enclosure
O/S : Windows XP Professional 64Bit (OEM)

Looks good, except maybe for that Windows version. If you know what you're doing then I guess it's alright. I thought it was a lot of issues finding drivers and programs working with it. Honestly, I don't have any experience with it though.

I'm looking forward to hear more about this system, keep us informed! :D
