Asus P5B in a upside down case (Silverstone TJ06)

Post by DG » Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:45 pm

I have a Silverstone TJ06 case (mobo is upside down) and i'm worried the NB heatpipe system wouldn't work. Has anyone this kind of configuration?

ps: the heat pipes on my VM-102 video card cooler are working fine though...

Basically, modern heatpipes don't rely on gravity at all- they use a sintered powder wick structure inside, that transfers liquid from the wet end to the dry end, regardless of orientation. This is why on some motherboards, the heatpipes can actually work backwards.
Hope this helps.
