Will C2E, C3E & C4E in the E5200 really make a differenc

Was just going thru the specs for the new E5200 when I saw this :
These parts have Extended Stop Grant State (C2E) enabled.
These parts have Deep Sleep State (C3E) enabled.
These parts have Deeper Sleep State (C4E) enabled.
Both, the recently released E7200 and the latest E5200, have the same stepping (M0), but the E7200 does not have C2E, C3E & C4E.

Would it really make much of a difference ?

And, does the E5200 have SSE4.1 ?

Well, the latest spec update says that E7200 (SLAPC), has C2E and C4E but does not say anything about C3E.

bit-tech recently tried to see what kind of power savings C2E/C4E would offer but unfortunately they couldnt get C4E working on the GA-EP45-DS3R motherboard so it made no difference in power consumption.

Yes, E5200 has SSE4.1.

There's no mention of anything beyond SSE3 in the Intel Spec Sheet and I've seen screenshots of CPU-Z showing SSE3 but not SSE4 so that seems pretty conclusive to me.

It could be wrong; it depends how it reports things like SSE. The easiest and most accurate way is to query the CPU directly in software rather than use a static lookup table for a range of CPUs. I suspect it does it the ‘proper way’ in which case it’s just reporting back what the CPU informs it that it supports.
For information that CPU-Z can’t access directly from the CPU itself, then of course there are errors at time.

I dont think it queries the CPU, at least it didnt back then, dont know about now and even if it does it may not be as accurate as one might think.
I remember one classic error when SSSE3 was wrongly being detected as SSE4 back when C2Ds were launched.

Of course it can still have errors even if it queries the CPU; programming errors.

I’ve just been informed that it uses the CPUID instruction.

quick test of C4E on EP45-DS3 E5200 VID 1.25 and lower VID 1.15

first load bios defaults
87Watts idle and Vid drops to 1.15, cpuz shows 1.104
then enabled that c2e/C4e thing in bios, the result is
84,5Watts idle,

RMclock is showing "Enable...C4E" correctly when it is enabled in bios.
