doing all I can to resist that one - it's the 3 platter 32mb cache one, usually not on sale.

same here. I need some more storage but the bays in my home server are maxed out and I'm waiting for either the Samsung 1.5TB or a major price drop on the WD 2TB.

Resistance is futile! (At least for me)

I ordered one immediately. I had a 640GB drive on order - but this TB drive is such a better deal.

Here's a very favorable review of the WD10EADS:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gre ... 078-2.html

The 5400rpm WD actually beats the 7200rpm Hitachi in a few tests. It's damn close in all the rest.

I hate tomshardware.com - their site uses waaaay too much java/flash/scripting = slow page loads, etc.
