How loud is my psu?

Post by Ryan » Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:10 pm

I recently swapped out my truecontrol 550 on this pc (overkill; barely draws 250 wats) and put in a FSP (Fortron) 300w. Since then, My pc seems to be pretty loud. I swapped out the 70mm CeraDyna with a Dynaflow80mm, and then arctic cooling arctic fan. The noise doesn't seem to be from the Arctic Fan. The noise seems to be from the Psu. Any idea's on how to silence it?

Hello Ryan,

Which Fortron 300watt PS did you install? The 120mm fanned unit, or the 80mm?

All right. I opened it up, there was a Yate Loon d80-sh12. I swapped it with a Yate loon d80-sm12. Much quieter.
