Seasonic's Titanium PSUs, as low as 400w fanless
Seasonic has unveiled its new flagship range, including an assortment of Titanium options . There's no indication of availability except 'soon', nor pricing just yet. But just might be a game changer!

Seasonic's competitors have already released two high capacity Titanium units, most likely in an effort to steal the spotlight, since such powerful PSUs with over 1.2 kW capacities aren't very popular among users. On the other hand, Seasonic chose to enter the Titanium market with lower capacity PSUs, which will cover the needs of many more users.
The Prime series consists of four Titanium PSUs with capacities ranging from 650W to 1 kW. The same line will also include two fanless PSUs, featuring 550W and 400W capacity and Titanium efficiency, along with several Platinum units with capacities ranging from 550W to 1200W.

I wonder if all wattages will work with 110VAC? If so, sweet.
Re: Seasonic's Titanium PSUs, as low as 400w fanless
Is it an expansion of what's currently known as "Titanium series" with 750W and 850W models, or something new on top of that?
And while new top high-end is nice, I think what Seasonic needs more is to replace those G/S12G series.

Nothing on the Seasonic website yet which is unusual as normally they would issue a press release. I am sure that would give more information. Seasonicrep is sometimes on SPCR so maybe if they are ready they can fill us in with more information.

The press release via Techpowerup.
This elegant-looking, exclusive lineup of new products will include 80 PLUS Titanium - in the range of 650 W to 1000 W and Platinum-rated units in the range of 550 W to 1200 W
Premium Hybrid Fan Control (fanless up to 45 % system load)

Here is the official Seasonic news item:

No doubt most websites will just be copy and pasting this info. The 10 year warranty is a new thing. I don't think many people will even be keeping a PSU for that long.
What is confusing is that the 400W fanless units are not mentioned. Either these form part of a different model line being launched separately or did THG get their facts wrong? Will we see a 400W fanless Titanium launching shortly?

EVGA has some models with 10y warranty for quite some time now…
Re: Seasonic's Titanium PSUs, as low as 400w fanless
Doubt it. The PR says 650W and above. Probably can't make the 20% load efficiency stick.edh wrote:Will we see a 400W fanless Titanium launching shortly?
Re: Seasonic's Titanium PSUs, as low as 400w fanless
Or with 80+ Titanium - 10% load efficiency. That's where the stumbling block may be.CA_Steve wrote:Probably can't make the 20% load efficiency stick.
So maybe the fanless models mentioned by THG will be Platinum only. I would however expect some improvement over the existing Seasonic fanless in efficiency but not enough to get Titanium.
Re: Seasonic's Titanium PSUs, as low as 400w fanless
I hope they will have better QC.... my last X400 had coil whine, and the 460 fanless I just bought blew after 3 seconds. I never had a PSU blow under me.
(The first X400 I bought years ago, when they were only Gold because there wasn't platinum rating, still works flawlessly, without any sort of whine.)
