digital multimeters

Would someone recommend a digital multimeter? It looks like Flukes are the best however they are really expensive. TPI's and BK Precision's are more reasonable. I have a radio shack analog which works fine, but I would like something that measures frequency and has a temperature feature. - FG

i've had the same radio shack digital mulitmeter since 1997 and it has served me well. it'll do frequencies and has a separate temp probe. the catalog # is 22-174B, but i imagine the model has been upgraded or discontinued in the past 8 years. it probably cost around $100 when new, i'm not sure as it was a gift.

I have a Fluke somewhere around this house that I picked up for ~$50...it does everything but the temperature sensing, so if you've got a probe somewhere that could be a compromise.

Flukes are supposed to last forever so maybe a used one is a possibility. - Thanks
