Tagan 430W Modular PSU - any good?

Post by Calathea » Fri Feb 24, 2006 3:52 pm

Does anyone have any experience with the Tagan 430W Modular PSU?

http://www.tagan.com/pages/products/eas ... 0_u15.html

I am looking for a quiet psu around the 400W mark and quite like the sound of the modular set-up.

Any other PSUs i should be looking atfor the £50-60 range

I'm with it, but i must change the fan because now its the only thing i could hear... Therefore it's a good PSU according to his voltages(perfect) but it could be a little quieter... I recommend

Hi all !

I've noticed something ; the more recent the Tagan PSUs, the more noisier they are. And their efficiency is still around 70%, while the rest of the market has moved to 80-85%.

If you want a really good PSU, you should choose the Seasonic S12 series, if possible the S12 500W and above, because the S12 430W isn't a real S12. If you really want a modular PSU, the Antec NeoHE series are very good.

Check this test : http://www.matbe.com/articles/lire/260/ ... page53.php

You can see that the Seasonic S12, Antec NeoHE, Enermax Liberty and Fortron Green Power series are much quieter than the latest Tagan.

See you

the S12 430W isn't a real S12
Hi, what does this comment mean? I'm aware that the 330, 380 and 430 use a slightly different circuit design than the 500 and 600, but in what way does that make it "not a real S12"???
