Jump start ATX PSU

Post by benx » Thu Nov 16, 2006 5:32 am

For a school project we need to jump start a atx power suply, i know that i have to connect pin 4 with ping 6 ( the green and the black wire ) how ever, when i do this the power suply fan spins up but right after it shuts down again.

Does anyone knows how i should manualy start this psu?

the psu is lite-on PS 5022 F max 200W

update i tested it with a case fan connected, the case fan spins up a second so there is power flowing true the wires=)

2 things:

you have to keep it jumped for it to stay on;
you may want to plug in an old hard drive or something to make sure there is a load on it, some of the PSU's won't start w/o load on 12V rail.

g'luck
