New Seasonic 300W & 350W 80-Plus SFX PSUs
It seems Seasonic have quietly improved their old SFD spec SFX, and evolved two new 300W & 350 SFE models, both 80-Plus certified. They're also conventionally designed, with a (60mm?) fan at the back:
(This photo shows a cut-out, the 80-plus pics show a grill).
This is all I can found about them:

Amazingly, I've even found the 350W one for sale in the UK - for £49...

Any chance of reviewing these in the near future? Based on the SFD review, these could be the SFX PSUs of choice!
(I'm considering the 350W for an NSK3300/Abit NF-M2 nview/AM2 65W/8800GTS build).
EDIT: The dimensions are slightly different; L130mm (5.1"), W125mm (4.9") and H64mm (2.5"). Same width, but 30mm longer than the SFD.

Is it the same as this one? http://www.silentpcreview.com/article286-page1.html
The Antec NSK3300 already has a built-in PSU similar to the one in the article above, right?

A few notes.
- This is still a SFX, not ATX PSU. A bracket will be needed to mount it in an ATX case.
- Being a SFX PSU, that IS a 60mm fan. An 80mm would not fit.
- My guess is that it will perform similar to the SS-300SFD. Assuming you don't get a bad fan (mine was), it'll be quiet at low loads but not as quiet as the S12s. And it'll ramp up sooner than an S12 would.
- I'm still waiting for a 300W ATX version of one of these bad boys. 80mm or 120mm fan wouldn't matter to me.

I thought about that. But it appears that some of the parts were assembled after it was already together in the case. The power plug screws into the back, but is also soldered to a circuit board on the inside. Requiring un-soldering and re-soldering to get it into a new case. Currently, that's not worth it. My 92mm fan mod is working well enough.Kremmit wrote:If you've just gotta have ATX, you can always rip the guts out of the SFX case and cram them into the case from a junk ATX PS.
