Antec 430W buzzing noise

Post by Zergling » Fri Apr 04, 2003 8:07 pm

I am extremely dissapointed with the buzzing noise coming out of my new antec true power 430W, the temerpature controlled fan works fine but overall this is one loud PSU.

Odd, I had no buzzing with mine. However I am going to install Panaflo L1As to lower "airflow" noise.

No idea whats the cause but I know some things ...

Enermax 365P (pfc active) tried with:

Abit BD7-II -> No buzz problems.

Gigabyte 8PE667 -> Enermax buzz

Mapower PSU 300w tried with:

Abit BD7-II & Fujistsu HD 7200 rpm -> No buzz problems.

Abit BD7-II & Seagate Barracuda IV -> very LOUD buzz

Gigabyte 8PE667 & Seagate Barracuda IV -> very LOUD buzz

*

Ahh.. electronic ... what a nice world

Damn. Modded my TruePower 380 that came with the Sonata by grommet fitting a 7 volted Panaflo externally. No fan or air noise that I can hear, but its started hissing, easily the loudest thing in the machine - just one hour ago I tested it for a few minutes on another system with more or less the same load and there was no hiss at all.

Back to my Zalman with 7v 22dB NMB fan then.
