PSU RMA

Post by shunx » Thu Apr 10, 2003 1:45 pm

Has anyone successfully RMAed a fried/broken PSU whose case has been opened? For my Enermax there is no seal on the case so there should be no way of telling.

What can it hurt to give it a try? Let us know what happens.

well I returned it to the store. The PSU is discontinued, so if the RMA goes through it will be "months" before I got it back.

PSU are almost NEVER repaired. They just chuck em, hopefully into a recycling lot of some kind. It is just replaced. You should talk to the shop & push a little, and/or get in touch with the Enermax distributor in Canada.

Last I knew, Comtronic Computer Centre is a/the Enermax distributor. They have a Vancouver branch.

Update: I just got my PSU back, and, surprise, they just gave me back the old one. Apparently the fuse has been replaced, and the unit is now functional.
