Coolermaster Extreme 550watt : noisy!?

I just installed this power supply in my Antec P182 and it's VERY loud. The fan keeps blowing at max speed, making my pc pretty loud. The Coolermaster website mentions a "intelligent fan control", but it seems the fan on my ps is alway at max speed.

Any1 know what can be the cause of this?

I got a CM extreme power duo 650 watt and it's also noisy as hell...

I also thought it was defective but the one they gave me was also so loud!

Those extreme power series are just rotten (although i here positive things about the 380/430 watt range)!

Damn, of all the power supplies, I HAD to choose to noisiest one so it seems.

Yeah well, stupid thing is, I bought a Antec P182 and a passive cooled GPU just to make sure the pc is silent, and then I get this. Thinkning about getting a Corsair PSU, those are supposedly very quiet.

yeah, corsair/seasonic are basicly the same...

Depends on your hardware how much watt you need!

I'm going for the seasonic 380/430.

What are you gonna do with your current psu, bring it back or keep it spare?

(I have a Antec Sonata but my 380 TruePower died

and also a passive geforce card)
