Fan Swap Mushkin HP550

Post by wicko » Wed Aug 08, 2007 9:17 pm

Hi there, I've been looking around the forums/faqs but I could use a bit of help.

I just bought a Mushkin HP-550 power supply, and the fan is way too loud for my liking. How do I find out what kind of CFM this fan pushes? I just don't want to end up overheating the PSU because I didn't get a strong enough fan. I was thinking this fan here: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php? ... omoid=1065, the Yate Loon D12SL-12. (Hopefully this is much quieter than the stock one).

If this has already been discussed before, then my apologies, I'm probably just blind, lol. Thanks for your assistance.

seen this? http://forum.ncix.com/forums/index.php? ... &subpage=1

"IMO, you should RMA the PSU and not go futzing around inside of it. If the fan speed regulator is borked ANY fan will be loud in there."
