OCZ 600W StealthXStream *not* quiet.

That is all. It is noticeably the loudest thing in my case and louder than a 500W Antec EarthWatts it replaced. It's probably quiet enough for non-SPCR-types but I'd stick with Antec/Seasonic/Corsair from now on for a quiet-focused PSU.

Yeah, FSP Epsilon platform (on which the StealthXStream is build) is decently quiet for most, but for the SPCR crowd ... ?

Nah.

Just curious, what made you buy something that had no reputation for silence at all?

It was half the price of the Corsair HX620 and I needed something cheap to test an issue. I guess now I pay double if I get an HX620.

Going to return it pony up $70 difference for the HX620. This did cool better than the EarthWatts because of the huge 120mm fan on the bottom to exhaust hot air from inside the case.

Holy sh1t, the HX620 is super silent. Moreso than I remember the HX520 or Seasonic S12-430 being. :D

Just has a brief high pitched whine when it powers off.

FYI, the 600W GameXstream is also a leaf-blower. Loud as can be...I replaced it with an HX520 after about a month of ownership because it was driving me insane.

Normally shouldn't do that. My HX620W is whisper quiet from power-up to power-down. Is it a lasting whine or just a short one?
