Re: seasonic x650 Gold
Measure it for yourself ? But AFAIK Seasonic X-650 is a standard size ATX PSU, so if your current PSU is standard size as well, then i don't see why it shouldn't fit.
Re: seasonic x650 Gold
... you just typed the same numbers, with the 5.9 and 6.3 transposed, Check elsewhere but it would be silly for seasonic to have the 'opposite' dimension on each side
Re: seasonic x650 Gold
Check neweggs specs? for 650X they only shows the numbers in order 6.3x5.9x3.4

And newegg is so infallible? get real, if you have a standard atx case, then any standard atx psu will fit.BOBCAT wrote:Check neweggs specs? for 650X they only shows the numbers in order 6.3x5.9x3.4

Re: seasonic x650 Gold
OBJECTION! The ATX form factor lists the 'standard' depth for a power supply as 146mm. However, mass-produced machines are known to use proprietary parts of smaller size in the interest of trimming production costs.MikeC wrote:if you have a standard atx case, then any standard atx psu will fit.
Additionally; Although the X series claim compliance with ATX12v and EPS12v regulations, they do not meet either form factor's depth dimension.
I can find out if you tell me the specific model of your machine. I assume it's from the Pavillion family, right?BOBCAT wrote:Will this power supply fit my hp 6000 series mid tower?
Re: seasonic x650 Gold
Uh it's actually bigger than standard, not smaller. Normal dimensions would be 5.9 X 5.7 X 3.4"
Honestly it doesn't matter, most cases can accommodate up to 6.3" depths easily. If you start getting bigger, it'll tougher to fit.

I said mass produced machines. Like HP, Compaq, Dell, Emachines, Acer...merlin wrote:Uh it's actually bigger than standard, not smaller. Normal dimensions would be 5.9 X 5.7 X 3.4"

I don't think mass produced machines are standard ATX cases anyways.Fire-Flare wrote:I said mass produced machines. Like HP, Compaq, Dell, Emachines, Acer...merlin wrote:Uh it's actually bigger than standard, not smaller. Normal dimensions would be 5.9 X 5.7 X 3.4"

They're generally Micro or Flex ATX these days, but we're getting off topic.merlin wrote:I don't think mass produced machines are standard ATX cases anyways.Fire-Flare wrote:I said mass produced machines. The issue is whether or not a Seasonic X series PSU will fit in BOBCAT's mystery HP case.
Re: seasonic x650 Gold
The traditional standard depth for an ATX power supply is 140mm, and some cases (especially old or custom) support no larger. The Seasonic is 160mm.

Re: seasonic x650 Gold
This is true. But the mounting screw positions for ATX PSUs are universal, and even most cases will accommodate 2cm extra psu depth.Luke M wrote:The traditional standard depth for an ATX power supply is 140mm, and some cases (especially old or custom) support no larger. The Seasonic is 160mm.
