Measure it for yourself ? But AFAIK Seasonic X-650 is a standard size ATX PSU, so if your current PSU is standard size as well, then i don't see why it shouldn't fit.

... you just typed the same numbers, with the 5.9 and 6.3 transposed, Check elsewhere but it would be silly for seasonic to have the 'opposite' dimension on each side

And newegg is so infallible? get real, if you have a standard atx case, then any standard atx psu will fit.

OBJECTION! The ATX form factor lists the 'standard' depth for a power supply as 146mm. However, mass-produced machines are known to use proprietary parts of smaller size in the interest of trimming production costs.

Additionally; Although the X series claim compliance with ATX12v and EPS12v regulations, they do not meet either form factor's depth dimension.

I can find out if you tell me the specific model of your machine. I assume it's from the Pavillion family, right?

Uh it's actually bigger than standard, not smaller. Normal dimensions would be 5.9 X 5.7 X 3.4"
Honestly it doesn't matter, most cases can accommodate up to 6.3" depths easily. If you start getting bigger, it'll tougher to fit.

I said mass produced machines. Like HP, Compaq, Dell, Emachines, Acer...

I don't think mass produced machines are standard ATX cases anyways.

They're generally Micro or Flex ATX these days, but we're getting off topic.

The issue is whether or not a Seasonic X series PSU will fit in BOBCAT's mystery HP case.

The traditional standard depth for an ATX power supply is 140mm, and some cases (especially old or custom) support no larger. The Seasonic is 160mm.

This is true. But the mounting screw positions for ATX PSUs are universal, and even most cases will accommodate 2cm extra psu depth.
