Hello everyone!
I just purchased this power supply:
EVGA 650W Modular G2 Gold Plus
My configuration is as follows:
-Case: Fractal Design R5 Black
-Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3 (Socket AM4)
-CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700 (not overclocked)
-CPU Cooler: Noctua NH D15 SE AM4
-Ram: 16GB DDR4 HyperX 2666Mhz (2x8Gb)
-Video Card: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX480 8Gb G1 Gaming
-Hard Disk 1: Western Digital 250GB SSD
-Hard Disk 2: Black Western Digital 2TB
I have no other attached devices (except USB keyboard and mouse)
The problem is: it seems that the power supply is a bit noisy, initially I tried not enable ECO mode, and of course not switched off the fan and felt enough. I then enabled the ECO mode with the appropriate key and the situation has improved a lot, although I still feel it. It seems that the fan does not turn off and turn a little faster.
All this is normal? Or the power supply fan should go off?
I did NOT have any kind of overclock and have not touched the bios.
I would like to specify that the noise is not very high, in all cases is more than acceptable, but I would like to know if there is something wrong or not.
The PC works smoothly
It may be that updating the BIOS of the motherboard and video card, consumption and consequently improve the fan turns off?
In addition, there are settings in the motherboard BIOS to control of 'power supply fan?

No: RMA or return it. Where did you purchase it?

Yes, with the ECO mode engaged your PSU should run fanless.
Besides, you should NOT switch the ECO mode while the PSU is running, that might fool the PSU fan controller.

No.

Purchased from Amazon.it
Tomorrow I will open an RMA.
I've switched from normal to eco with the PSU powered off.

BTW, are you sure that you're hearing the PSU fan, and not something else?
