Just marginally. It is very unlikely you will actually see a difference in real life.
Also, it has been noted that the P120 is actually slightly louder than the P80.
120 gb not small size , enough for most users!
Perhaps, unless they get into video/movies, which seems to be rather popular today. However, as I said before, there are no new 3.5" drives on the market right now smaller than 160 GB, and most are between 200 and 300 GB. Samsung would not be able to competitively price a single-platter P120 due to production methods, and
very few people will buy a 120 GB drive when they can get 200 GB for the same price.
Simple "bigger is better" mentality at work here.
If drive fast and quiet millions people who want quiet drive on the world buy this drive!
I think you are overestimating here. The number of people who have computers sufficiently quiet that they'll hear a difference between this Samsung and any other hard drive on the market today is
maybe in low tens of thousands. The number of people who would be able to tell the difference between a theoretical single-platter P120 and a double-platter P120 in their computer is
maybe in hundreds.
more than 120 gb not need , buy 300-400 gb drive and place in USB2.0 box for large files movies etc or in Power Management disable this drive 20-30min inactivity
Most people will not pay for two drives if they can pay less for one of the same capacity. Due to this, it does not make economic sense for Samsung to make a single-platter P120. Since they are a for-profit corporation, chances are they will not make such a drive.
