Samsung HD321KJ vs HD300LJ. Any audible difference?

Post by DG » Tue Jan 23, 2007 5:08 am

I have the HD300LJ version and is pretty noisy, not the idle noise but the very high level of vibration it gives and loud seeks. AAM is not enabled i think...

Is the 321KJ version different? Any better alternatives?

I'm can't answer your question, but I'm wondering if the 321KJ lives up to the rest of the T-series standards (ie. same noise & vibrations characteristics). One difference I can immediately see is that it has double the cache (16MB vs. 8MB), so it should provide better performance.

My new HD321KJ is impressively quiet and vibration-free. It's mounted in a Sonata drive sled using this method, but I can barely feel it running when I reach in and put a finger on it.

Thanks, so it should be much quieter in my Accoustipack-packed SOLO with the HD suspension.
