wich is faster a 226X compact flash card or a Usb Thumb Drive?

Some USB drives are faster than others. I suggest you check the reviews and compare them to the speed of the compact flash card

Yeah it really depends on the speed of the drive, but I don't think there are many (any?) 266x USB drives available, and even if there are this might be approaching the practical bandwidth limitation of the USB2.0 bus. I suspect that you'd see the best performance with a CF card hooked up to IDE or SATA.
