Any 2.5" HDD >1TB?

Post by Strid » Mon May 24, 2010 12:53 am

Hey, just curious here.

Has anyone seen a 2.5" form factor drive, larger than 1TB. I've seen 1TB from Western Digital available, but nothing larger. Also, these drives are a bit taller. But my question is has anyone released, say, 1.5TB 2.5"?

1 TB remains the biggest, or 512 GB for 2.5" SSD. Both are likely to head north later this year with density increases, already announced in the 3.5" market with desktop hard drives to exceed the former 2 TB brick wall.

The most recent innovation to my knowledge was the WD Scorpio 750 GB being given a normal 9.5mm form factor, as opposed to the physically taller 1 TB drive. To my knowledge this 750 GB drive is the largest 'laptop' hard drive available.
