How can I limit maximum cdrw drive speed?

Post by jpsa » Tue May 25, 2004 8:17 am

I have a plextor 48/32/48 usb cd burner, it's silent enough, the problem is that it's a usb2 unit plugged in a usb1 slot. If I use 48x recording the burnproof is running all the time. How can I limit this thing to 6x or 4x? thx a lot!

It would be helpful if you give us more information as to what you are doing with the drive, burning CD's, playing MP3's, playing games, etc. and what software you are using. For burning, NERO burning ROM allows you to select the write speed prior to starting the burn operation. For playback, Nero also has a number of utilities useful to slow the drive for quietness, look here.
