I can connect the adapter 2.5 to 3.5 in two orientations. This makes it dangerous to connect the power to the wrong pins. Does anyone have any tips? The drive has 44 + 4 pins plus a missing pin in the bottom row. The adapter unfortunately has all 44 holes!!

On all the adapters I've used, the two wires for power come out of the side opposite the four pins for setting master/slave.

Thanks Ed. Just found a pin43 on the hdd. According to at 44 pinout this should be the 'power' side, and u know what? It's on the opposite side of the master/slave block like you said.
