This one might be closer:

Not the T7K250, don't know how much diff between the two - I believe Tom's Hardware has a review on the T7K250 if you're interested. I like my 7K250, other than the meow - newer models should not have that. I can't compare it with the Samsung, but it's definitely quieter than my Seagate 7200.8. I've always soft mounted my drives (grommets or Sorbothane strips) so YMMV.

Hitachi has their own feature tool, it works for me. Not sure about WinAAM, but I believe I adjusted the AAM setting for my 7K250 SATA through a Windows app.

Guys, i'm not sure if this is of interest to any of you, but CompUSA has the "Deskstar 7K250 160GB, 7200RPM, Internal ATA/100 Hard Drive" for only $29.99 after $100 in rebates, and $10 of that being an instant rebate. It's good till August 10, 2005.

T7K250's utilising 2 platters instead of 3 in 7K250 for 250GB.
