I thought the only nosie in my HDD was the seek noise - I took by PC apart today and was surprised to find that noise (that I assumed was fan noise) was actually coming from the HDD.

I am very doubful that suspension will get rid of this noise and that an enclosure is the way forward.

How have people found suspension in getting rid off the nosie? for exmaple I held the HDD in my hand and it was still making a racket - and I doubt I can contribute to noise like a PC case :)

Interesting coz if I can shut the HDD then my PC will almost be as silent as I dream about :D

my sp1614c is almost dead quiet! Do you have a NIdec or JVC motor?

Perhaps the HDD mount is not secure enough and the minor vibration is transfering across!
