This is the single platter right?

Quieter than a T1 and just as fast? I can't find any reviews specific to this HD.

I'm thinking of using my 500GB T1, plus a WD Green drive as a NAS combo and picking up a single-platter T1.

Not bad for US$50.

It is single platter, and it suppoed to be slightly quieter than the 2 and 3 platter models. I got one recently, and have not used it yet except to test it - it is a cool running drive.

The 500GB and 750GB models use lower density platters and are slower.

What is a T1.???

I have had both versions of the 320GB drive.
The F1 seems to be slightly quieter than the T166. Both were with AAM enabled.

The F1 is also a lot faster than the previous version.
If I remember correctly, the old one got 5.6 from Vista performance test and the new one gets 5.9.
I didn't test the old one with HDtach or HDtune so I can't compare more accurately.

Thanks guys!

Sounds good. My T166 (T1) for some reason is producing more vibrations than it was in the past. Myabe just mounted differently when I moved cases.

Cheers!
