Caviar Black 2TB is underway

In English: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/22 ... iar_black/
In Japanese: http://akiba-pc.watch.impress.co.jp/hot ... tc_wd.html

If WD delivers on the firmware front, this can be a monster drive for workstations.

Give me the one platter 500GB with 64MB cache black and I'd likely buy one or two platter 1TB with 64MB cache and I'd think about it. I don't need a 2TB drive.

he "consumer green" WD20EADS has 32MB - however the existing 2TB "enterprise green" RE4-GP already has a 64MB cache - I would be surprised if the "consumer performance" Caviar Black didn't have 64MB as well.
