Am I right in thinking that a 3TB drive, when used as a secondary, non-boot drive will still work in a 32bit OS, such as XP Pro? Or would I need to use that little doohickey WD included with the 3TB drive?
Thanks!

From what I've read, 32-bit XP will not work with a 2+TB HD even as a data drive, so you will still have to use that PCIe SATA card if you are using 32-bit XP.
But 32-bit Windows Server 2003 SP1 and newer 32-bit OS (Vista/Win7) can use 2+TB has a data drive only.

BUT! There might be software workarounds for XP, like this one:

I was using a RAIDed drive with 2,5GB in XP. The page size was 4k, it was REALLY slow. I multibooted to WIN7 and lost almost all data.
Now I'm using an external 2GB drive.
Upgrade your OS or stay below 2GB on XP. Avoid XP and 4K page size on hard drives like the plague!
