AM2 heatsink/fan recommendation

Post by bg4533 » Sun Jul 23, 2006 4:58 pm

I am building a new system (likely x2 3800+) and am having a hard time choosing a heatsink. It seems most of the well recommended heatsinks are not compatible with AM2.

My current system is an Athlon XP1700+ OCd to 2GHz. It is cooled by a Thermalright SLK900 w/ 92mm Panaflo L1A at ~5V.

I would like a heatsink/fan that offers similar performance for both noise and cooling.

Any suggestions?

edit: Does anyone know when the Scythe Infinity will be available in the US?

I don't own an AM2 system, but I bought an AM2 compatably HSF because of the difference between it and the non-AM2 model (nickle plating). It's the same as the Zalman CNPS 9500 but AM2 compatable and nickle plated with a green LED in the fan.

You can add the Thermalright Ultra 90 to the list too.
