I took the backplate off my motherboard for my thermalright 120 extreme because I'm getting a new motherboard. Well the sticky foam ripped off the backplate and stuck to the motherboard. I had to scrape it off. Now my question is what can I use to replace the sticky foam adhesive that was on their? Double sided foam tape etc any ideas????

I would think that Silicone Sealant would work just don't breath the vapors as it cures. Heat should not cause any problems.

You can buy that backplate with 4 new sprung screws for about $3. I just purchased 3 of them because I have some Ninja Mini's to mount on my new builds.
I would just buy a new one. That is supposed to apply pressure from the back of the board for better contact on the CPU/heatsink.

When you fit the replacement backplate don't stick it to the motherboard.
If you leave the film on top of the sticky pad the heatsink backplate works just as well, and can be removed easily in future.
