Quiete northbridge cooling on hot northbridges

Post by GermanJulian » Fri Feb 17, 2006 2:45 am

Yes its retro but it works great :)
I been crying out my eyes. New system, I like it quiete, the Zalman passive northbridge gets to hot to touch.. so needed some active cooling. Thanks to the mobo layout (which is great by the way) and the HUGE Zalman CPU cooler I just could not get a 80mm or 120mm fan positioned in such a way to cool the beast

So I looked around and found the original northbridge cooler which I attached to a fan speed controller... full speed = to loud could hear it over other fans... half speed pushed good air and was drowned out by the 120mm fans etc. mhhhhh

started thinking... saw some cardboard.... saw some sticky tape....

where did the fan go??

heheh gonna fix that sticking out sticky tape. Its secure and the fan won't come of nor will the paper. I pushed the cables into the fan grills. Fan running at half speed...

the northbridge is a little warmer then my finger
