It's clear that the 7000 is a winner. I think Thermalright has a real challenge now. Don't know if their existing designs are as efficient as this.
I'm really curious to know if they'll find a clip that will fit Socket-A. Now that'd be cool.
BTW - I moved this into the cooling forums

Thermalright would have a challenge, if this fit Athlon mobos.. as it is, I think only the AX-478 and SLK-900 from Thermalright fit Intel mobos.
The SLK-900 accepts 92mm fans, so a noise & performance comparison with this Zalman would be nice.
While it does seem to perform well, and the fin design gives the 92mm fan a nice quiet spot, I'm not sure that the fin design gives the best cooling possible. I'm guessing the SLK-900 w/ a 92mm fan will beat it.
In the Zalmans favor, this sink seems much less likely to bump into other things on your mobo.

Also we know exactly how easy it is to swap a fan on the slk-900, and no real comments yet on what happens if the 92mm fan on the 7000 fails.
I'm looking forward to hearing comments from the early adopters and of course the review on here

Do you ever wonder if this HS was developed by a 1960's hippie?
Seriously though I think it would be a good thing if the results of all HS tests included the OEM unit, just for the sake of reference.
This thing is actually the first thing I've seen to justify a clear panel on a PC.

Trifin, or anybody still living in Woodstock NY.
Yeah being stuck with one fan choice is not in anybody's best interest.
