Scythe Ninja Plus fit Intel 875PBZ \ Antec P150?

Post by dannyuk32 » Tue May 08, 2007 4:38 pm

Hi,
Just wondered if this will fit in an Antec P150. Motherboard is Intel PBZ 875.
Is this fan\heatsink my best option for socket 478.
Thanks, Danny.

Can't say about the mobo but the Ninja fits easily in a P150/SOLO.

It should fit. If a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, which is 10mm taller than the Ninja, fits in my Solo, the Ninja should clear the side panel by at least 10mm.

Yes, it'll definitely fit.

Should work fine. Personally, I prefer "blow down on the mobo" types of heatsinks and would use something like a Thermalright XP-120 or Si-120.

Socket 478 CPU cooler

Post by dannyuk32 » Wed May 09, 2007 5:57 pm

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
Been spending some time searching the forums.
'478' gave me lots of info and to be honest I've gone off the Rev. B Ninja.
It seems to be between the Thermalright 120, 90, Thermaltake Big Typhoon, or Zalman 7000.
The Big Typhoon seems to be the best of the lot, but unfortunately been replaced by a new model that will only accept prescott CPU :( , and I can't find a standard Thermalright 120 anywhere. Seems to be the Ultra version or nothing. Maybe they've discontinued this model.
Basically 478 is really dieing now and it's 775 and upwards.
Thnx Ralf, if I can't find a standard 120 It will have to be a 90 or back to the old faithful, the Zalman 7000.
Is the 90 ok?

Danny.

90 will work fine, but probably be a bit louder for the same amount of cooling, compared to the 120.
