anyone used a 9500 on a Silverstone tj06 (with or without the wind tunnel)??
Im thinking of fitting one to my E4300 system and delete the zalman fan and use the 2X120mm fans on the case to cool the 9500 inside the tunnel.....
Can the 2X120mm case fans be run by the cpu's fan speed controller?? if not then would i have to get different 120mm fans that could be run via the cpu HSf plug?
If not is there a way to control the case fans using the CPU temp as the reference?

There are several methods to control any fan using the CPU temp. The first involves a controller with an external temperature probe.....which you stick in the heatsink fins, close to the base. The second method is software based. It is an external controller that uses a program such as Speedfan to get the CPU temp reading, then adjusts the fan speed according to your settings. The VL Systems LIS2 works like this. It has no sensors of it's own. The program Speedfan can also do the same thing by itself......if your MB supports it.

If it fits inside the tunnel, (and I suspect it does, but you can probably email Silverstone and ask them) use some flexible foam to make a block around the edges of the heatsink and right inside the middle, to force the air past just the heatsink.
Then pick up a 3-pin fan splitter to run the two fans off the same header. shouldn't cost more than a buck. I buy 'em 15 at a time. . .

Hi, you are proposing a like system as I, except I will use the 9700 which is slighty bigger, but rated for dual core. Hoping to use the DQ6 & Q6600
Hoping to set the WT fans @ 7v and the Zalman to 'low'. Have 92mm mounted at the back of the HDD cage.
How did you get on with the 9500?, was there much room in the tunnel?
