Thermalright ultra 120 extreme

Post by barbz » Mon Aug 13, 2007 4:24 pm

Hi all,

About to put this cooler and machine into a P182

Due to the dfi motherboard the cooler is orientated horizontally.

Do you think I can get away without a fan on the heatsink if i have fans in the top and back positions?

1. What CPU?

2. Which DFI Motherboard?

I would hazard a yes.

Sorry, its a AMD AM2 5200+ and a DFI Lanparty NF590 SLI-M2R/G

Runs very cool with the 1200rpm scythe fan on it and all the fans in the p182 will be replaced by these, thought given the top fan will be pretty close to the hsf and at the correct orientation i could get away with it, otherwise it will be tight.

edit, didn't see your reply..

It could work if you are able to perhaps build an air duct to the fan in which its facing, and the other fan would cool the rest of the system. Cheap folded cereal box cardboard could work.
