Zalman's new CNPS10X Quiet (not extreme)

Post by Darth Santa Fe » Sun Aug 09, 2009 11:42 am

I just ran across this today.

Zalman's brought out a revision of their CNPS10X heatsink, called the 10X Quiet. http://zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product ... sp?idx=355

It has a fan that runs from 700-1,400 RPM (300-600 slower than the Extreme), and it weighs 750 grams, instead of the Extreme's 920 grams. The fan is mounted with clips, so replacing it with a Nexus, or Scythe, or whatever, would be much easier. The fin spacing is a lot wider too.

SPCR, it may be time for another Zalman review! :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's also $15-$20 cheaper. :D

Hopefully its good, too bad the fan is non PWM though.

Though it may not be that much of a loss since most of the Zalman fans I've heard lately have too much motor noise anyway.

Frostytech has a great review on it, with sound level and temperature ratings.... looks like a very, very good solution, even at low speed and very quiet, it keeps the CPU very cool.

Bought it, put it in, loving it!!! I can't hear it at all in my NZXT hush case, the power supply fan at low is much louder than this cooler even at a full 12v, (TT toughpower 600W) only problem I had with it is that the fan won't register as being fast enough for my CPU fan mobo sensor, so one of my case fans had to go there.

flawless victory!!!
