How do I attach fans using Sunbeam Rubber Fan Screws??
I bought a four pack of these rubber screws for $4 at jab-tech here, but cannot for the life of me figure out what the hell to do with them. They don't fit through the screw holes in the case for fan mounting nor can I wedge either side of them into any of the fans I have. Anyone have any ideas??
Mar, you're not being very helpful today - this is the second such post I came across
grenadier, you need open corner fans for these to work. Note that the "rubber screws" are not symmetrical. Crude ascii art:
<EEE==||=EE>
Note the narrow part "=" : one side is thicker than the other. The thick side is for the fan, the thinner side is for the case. Insert it into the fan first, position the fan against the case, then pull it through the case.
I'll try to post a picture.
Edit: Thanks, winguy. Saved me the trouble.

you get what you pay for. if you want cheep, then look at what you have now and dont complain. if you want quality, your gunna pay for it.DraGoNsLaYeR wrote:They're quite expensive for something like that. How significanat will the noise reduction be?
and i would hardly call 75cents a pop expensive. if you buy 5 packs its only 50cents a pop.
do you really need a cost/benefit analisys on somthing that costs 3 bucks?
